March can be a funny month weather wise, you never know what
you are going to get.
Today (5th) if was a fabulous bright but cold
day. If you wanted to make it the first sail of the season you would have been
out of luck as the marina is undergoing its annual lock maintenance programme
which means no marine traffic for three weeks or so.
What to do, well, there is always something to do and today
it was an opportunity to get the decks and top sides washed.
We like our teak to remain rich in colour but it does takes
a bit of work. The starting point is to get all the winter grime scrubbed out.
Two hours of scrubbing and the topsides are looking good. Last seasons
treatment has protected the teak well. Needs another scrub in a few weeks and
then a couple of days with a brush (needs to be warmer)
