Maryport is another marina in the north west of England that is steeped in history. There are still Roman salt pools along the coast, some 2000 years old. There are three parts overall, an outer harbour that dries completely at low tide, a commercial marina for the small remaining fishing fleet and the leisure marina where we were berthed for the best part of four years.
