Not a lot happening in the marina in January. With a lot of fresh water running into it and very cold weather most of January has been icebound. Marina Projects, who are the marina owners have taken this opportunity to maintain the lock gates which also means the marina is shut for three weeks so the commercial fishing fleet has relocated and a lot of the owners have lifted the boats for maintenance.
It might have been cold (for Cumbria, these shots were at -8) but Whitehaven is still a great place to go out in so we have braved the cold and had a couple of weekends on the boat. Some spectacular skating down the slipway to the pontoons too.Looking forward to summer and visiting Ireland and Scotland again – on some nice hot sunny days!Just discovered the puddle jump group which has some great information and links to help with the ‘big dream’, I mean plan.
