Wow, now that is what I call a polish, the team from Whitehaven really did a great job.
Planned the lift over a couple of weeks where the tide was not so good, turned out to be a good move as the weather remained fine for the three weeks on the hard standing. Also means there was not pressure to get the work done.
Looking forward, we will probably plan the next scheduled lift in 18 months or so which will be at the start of the 2012 season, again we will look for decent weather to help dry the hull and let teh anti foul work be done in some warmth.
The plan for the lift worked well, unfortunately a nice high brought some unexpected pleasures during the drop back in.
Started off with a nice NE wind which delayed things for an hour to let things calm down, then the compulsory rain, which turned to hail just as the drop in started.
Five minutes later, hail and rain stopped, wind died and the sun came out – so we were finishing with the lines soaking wet in the sun!
