After a very wild crossing fro Whitehaven we finally made it into Bangor marina. It is a very interesting approach in the bay as the opening between the water breaks is not obvious until you get quite close. Bangor is quite large however the staff are fabulous and very helpful. ConoSur was quite safe between a couple of big flybridge cruisers, which had even bigger ones outside them.
We were amazed by the amount of jelly fish, good for us to look at but not so good for the fish farm further round the coast.
Bangor is a very friendly place, plenty to see and do and you can hope on the train a go into the centre of Belfast for a couple of pounds and 20 minutes each way. This is a great day out.
Closer to the marina try The Salty Dog, which has a great menu and selection of wines and beers. Needless to say as this was our first visit to the Emerald Isle we had to try Guiness
Having spent a couple of days here we decided to move on and head to Scotland, so after fuelling Karen took the helm to do the first part of another long day cruising. This was great as I could get on with all the things that I can do, like sit down and watch the world go by. What a life, cruising the world must be great.
